The computer lab offers six different classes, one for Elementary School, one for Middle School,and four elective choices for High School.
Elementary & Middle School
Class focuses on a daily typing lesson (via Typing.com) that students can also access from home, as well as a a rotating schedule of projects. Projects include designing documents in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, as well as art based programs such as Tinkercad and Kodu Game Lab.
High School Electives
Students can choose from four different high school electives:
Graphic Design
Students work through a mixture of lessons and projects that teach them the basics of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
Digital Photography
Students learn the basics of shooting and editing photos via the use of a DSLR camera. Basic features, such as aperture, exposure, and shutter speed will be covered, along with the use of Adobe Photoshop.
Video Game Design
Students learn the basics of game design and code structure through the use of Kodu Game Lab. Advanced students have the opportunity to work with Gamemaker 2, Unity and C#/Java code.
3D Modeling and Printing
Students use a variety of 3D programs to create designs that can then be printed on our in-house 3D printer. All students have the ability to print at least two of their designs during the course of the class.
